NOTE: Mode 0 and mode 1 are obsolete. Mode 0, if
used, will default to mode 2; mode1 defaults to mode 4.

Special considerations for the ^FD instruction when
using MaxiCode
The ^FD statement is divided into two parts: a High Priority Message
(hpm) and a Low Proirity Message (lpm). There are two types of High
Priority Messages. One is for a US Style Postal Code, the other is for
a Non-US Style Postal Code. The syntax for either of these High Pri-
ority Messages must be exactly as shown or an error message will be
generated. The format is shown on the next page.
