Unique Selling Points
Superior Processing
Powered by the same class of microprocessor as Zebra’s mighty XiIIIPlus™ Series, the
2844-Z is a desktop printer with great horsepower. Delivering swift throughput for fast
and efficient printing of complex label formats, the 2844-Z can boost application
productivity with ease.
Best Integration: Flexible Connectivity and Advanced Networking Capability
Designed with easy application integration in mind, the 2844-Z offers versatile
connectivity choices, and comes with a standard triple interface - serial, parallel and USB.
Standard USB Port
USB (Universal Serial Bus) is the latest standard in peripheral interfaces – Most new
PC's are being manufactured with USB ports. USB makes adding peripheral devices very
simple and the 'one plug fits all' connection adds many features and benefits to the
2844-Z:
USB Features Function Benefits
Daisy Chaining
Provides the ability to connect
multiple printers to the same PC via
the PC USB ports or via a USB hub
Run multiple print jobs off one PC,
and/or connect multiple peripherals
from a single port
“Hot-swapping”
Add a printer without shutting down
the PC
Without having to shutdown and reboot,
no time or documents are lost, HOT
plug n play
Standardized Plug and
Port
One standardized port for any
peripheral device with its own unique
shape. Standard cable with unique
shaped connector.
Quick and easy installations. No add-in
cards to install or dip switches to
configure, just plug in and run
USB connectivity
available on a wide
range of peripherals
Use USB hubs to establish the
number of ports you need and plug all
your peripheral devices via USB. No
additional I/O cards to configure.
User does not need to be with the
printer to detect an error. This is
especially important for Daisy Chaining:
know which printer may be down
without having to check each
individually.
The Power of ZebraLink
Additionally, the optional internal ZebraNet PrintServer II interface is available for
the 2844-Z, providing quick and easy integration into Ethernet network
environments. Notably, because this option is internal to the printer, with the
Ethernet port on the back panel, there is no external Ethernet device taking up
space; this eliminates a potential point-of-failure and preserves the small desktop
footprint of the 2844-Z.
When combined with the power of ZebraLink, this printer is an excellent network printer,
with the benefit of the remote printer control and management tools provided with
ZebraNet software utilities.
